A successful businessman with a long history of corporate achievements in diverse industries of Bangladesh and abroad. Mr. Abdul Muqeed Majumdar, also well-known as ‘Muqeed Majumdar Babu’ in media, completed his Secondary & Higher Secondary education in Bangladesh, Graduation, and Post-graduation in the UK, and the USA. In 1984, he came back to Bangladesh and started his professional career as a Director of Impress Group (IG). Since then, with his charismatic leadership, IG’s continuous development has made it one of the leading group of companies in the country. 

As an individual, Mr. Muqeed Majumdar Babu possesses strong ethical values and a sense of responsibility for his family, workplace, society, and the country. Solely based on those principles he fought the Liberation War in 1971 and still fighting to make the country a better and greener place to live. Subsequently, to build awareness regarding biodiversity, ecosystem, nature, and climate change adaptation & mitigation among the mass people and hence to encourage sustainable development, he founded a completely non-profit organization “Prokriti O Jibon Foundation” (Nature and Life Foundation) in 2009. The foundation specializes in research; nature-related publications (e.g., DVDs, Books, Magazines, Calendars, Leaflets, etc.), and video documentaries on wildlife, natural resources, ecofriendly products, flora, and fauna, environmental issues, climate change adaptation & mitigation, and the like. As part of its conservation efforts, the Foundation is producing and telecasting the first-ever research-based TV series named ‘Prokriti O Jibon’, featuring the biodiversity, ecosystem, climate, and nature of Bangladesh. Mr. Muqeed Majumdar Babu is the Planner, Director, and Anchor of this TV series, and more than 340 episodes of this popular TV series have already been telecasted.
Apart from that, he is the Chairman of the Editorial Board of ‘Prokritibarta’, a quarterly magazine containing literature by renowned environmentalists and nature lovers. He is also the Editor of a fully colored feature page of the Daily Jugantor named ‘Prokriti O Jibon’. Through the Foundation he is regularly organizing School programs to educate the young generation about the role of biodiversity, ecosystem & nature and to connect them with conservation works.
His excellent works on the conservation of wildlife, nature, and climate change have been highly appreciated by various government and non-government organizations both nationally and internationally. Due to his hard work and strong leadership Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and he have received several recognitions which include (but are not limited to) “Pallima Green Gold Medal-2017” by Pallima Sangsad; “National Environment Award-2015” by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; “Chand Sultana Award-2015” by Dhaka Ahsania Mission; “Business Excellence Award Singapore-2014”, in best NGO category, by Business Asia & BD Cham Singapore; “Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation-2013” by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; “HSBC – The Daily Star Climate Award-2012” by HSBC Bank and The Daily Star; “Special recognition for outstanding contributions for the conservation of wildlife and nature of Bangladesh” by Zoological Society of Bangladesh, TRUB Award-2021 and so on.
In personal life, Mr. Muqeed Majumdar Babu is an open-hearted, honest, extrovert, and approachable man. He is passionate about learning new things. In his free time, he writes books and scholarly articles for newspapers & magazines. So far, he has published 15 books.
